SAL Deputy Hauck surprised the senior Florin Law Academy class with Chick-fil-A chocolate chip cookies to support A Sweet Day of Giving where proceeds from every chocolate chip cookie sold benefitted the Make-A-Wish foundation. Thank you Chick-Fil-A for supporting SAL and Make-A-Wish.

On Tuesday May 5th, SAL helped to make the final mentor meeting of the school year for the Florin Law Academy mentorship program a little extra special by providing lunch, catered by Weinerschnitzel. SAL and Weinerschnitzel were happy to give back to those Public Service Mentors who support the growth and development of the youth in Sacramento.

SAL is proud to be a sponsor of the Flamingo 5k, Sacramento’s first autism run, being put on by The Fly Brave Foundation. Fly Brave provides free activities, events and job training for individuals with autism or other neurological disabilities. Come out and join us for an amazing day with amazing people. Yesterday SAL/YSU deputies visited John Reith Elementary School at lunchtime for their college/career week. The kids were excited to get into the YSU truck and asked the deputies a lot of questions. If you would like us to visit your school visit our website at SSOSAL.org.

Join SAL for our 2nd annual comedy night fundraiser featuring Mike E. Winfield and guests. The proceeds will fund scholarships for graduating seniors in the Sacramento area. Ticket price includes all food and beverages.

Flamingo 5K for Autism The Flamingo 5K for Autism is on Sunday May 17, 2026. It includes the following events: Adult 5K Run/Walk, Kids Run, and Youth 5K Run/Walk.

SAL is hosting their second annual Friday Night Comedy Show. The proceeds will fund scholarships for graduating seniors in the Sacramento area. Tickets include all food and beverages. There will be raffle tickets for sale. We would like to thank the following for donating raffle prizes: Wise Villa Winery, Sac Republic, River Fox Train, Bogle Winery, The Sacramento Railroad Museum and Bennett’s Restaurant. Recently, SAL/YSU Deputy Bakarich visited John Reith Elementary School for Read Across America week. She read books to second and third graders and talked about why she loves to read.
