CAL FIRE is the largest fire department in California, the second-largest fire department in the United States, and the largest local in the IAFF.

We proudly represent the dedicated men and women of CAL FIRE. In the middle of the 1960s a group of California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection firefighters from throughout the state met in a hotel room in Sacramento, California. A big step forward: AB 2129 passed the Assembly 57-1. This bill moves us closer to fair, competitive pay for CAL FIRE firefighters. Now it heads to the Senate — and we’re not slowing down 💪🔥
