The VA is sending a message to Women Veterans:
“We are also advocates for women Veterans and women serving in the military. We want to make sure that you receive due recognition for your service and are treated with dignity and respect inside and outside of VA facilities. We are spearheading a culture change campaign to increase recognition of female Veterans and the contributions women make while serving in the military.
For more information about Women Veterans Health and what we’re doing to improve health care services and improve the VA culture for women Veterans, visit http://www.womenshealth.va.gov.”

Today the Cal Guard Army Commanding General Jeffrey Smiley was promoted to Major General.
MG Smiley has been a huge advocate for the SAPR program and we are honored that he mentioned the program in his speech stating he appreciates our hard work.
Thank you Sir for your guidance, encouragement, and believing in us.

April 2023 marks the official 22nd anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness Month — but did you know we can trace its history even longer?
Even before its official declaration, SAAM was about both awareness and prevention of sexual assault, harassment, and abuse. Looking at the history of the movement to end sexual violence, it’s clear why: It’s impossible to prevent an issue no one knows about, and it’s difficult to make people aware of a problem without providing a solution. The two work in tandem, and they always have. From the civil rights movement to the founding of the first r**e crisis centers to national legislation and beyond, the roots of SAAM run deep.
