The Asian American Small Business Political Action Committee (AASB-PAC) was officially established in June 2005. Its purpose is to support both local and state candidates who will be strong advocates for the AAPI community and Asian American small business owners and who will help strengthen and protect the political and economic climate for small business success. The Asian American Small Business PAC has spent nearly $1 million in support of qualified candidates that are firmly committed to advancing the Asian American small business and entrepreneurial agenda. AASB PAC was proud to play a pivotal role in the election of strong advocates for Asian American small business interests such as State Treasurer John Chiang, State Controller Betty Yee, Board of Equalization Member Fiona Ma, Fmr. Board of Equalization Members Judy Chu and Michelle Park Steel, and a historic number of candidates for State Senate and Assembly including: Rob Bonta, David Chiu, Ed Chau, Dr. Richard Pan, Phil Ting, Young Kim, Janet Nguyen, Ling Ling Chang, Alan Nakanishi, Warren Furutani, Mike Eng, Das Williams, Evan Low, Mariko Yamada, Al Muratsuchi, Ash Kalra, Mae Torlakson, Jennifer Ong, Jane Kim, James Lau, and Darrell Fong.
