🍽 Happy World Food Safety Day!️
Food safety goes beyond protecting your food from germs. It’s also important to protect your food and yourself from harmful chemicals when preparing and storing food.
- Choose glass containers for food storage and reheating. Some food packaging can contain chemicals like bisphenol A (BPA) that can be transferred to your food.
- Try steaming, boiling, stewing or poaching your food more often. Grilling, barbecuing, smoking or frying foods can expose you to chemicals like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are released in smoke and can coat your food.
