Held over by popular demand, the travelling exhibit of Poet Laureate Park, will remain at Sacramento's Arcade Library through the month of May!

For those of you who have been wondering about Poet Laureate Park and have visited or haven't yet visited, there's a new exhibit about Poet Laureate Park at Arcade Library on Marconi in Sacramento.

The display went up for National Poetry Month and features images from the installation days, from events that have been held there, and images of each of the poem sculptures as well as a news article and tri-folds from poetry readings featuring Sacramento and Davis Poets Laureate.

The exhibit is up through April 30.

Poet Laureate Park is on the move and touring the land. Well, it is doing the touring via displays of installation day photos, completed sculpture photos, and events like the Children's Day Event and visits by poets like Yuyutsu Sharma and others.

You can view the display during the month of April at Arcade Library on Marconi in Sacramento.

The poems of Viola Weinberg, Dennis Schmitz, Jose Montoya, Julia Connor, Bob Stanley, and Jeff Knorr are also included (these are the full poems excerpted for the sculptures). Also, a news article about Poet Laureate Park is on display.

Enjoy your visit, check out the rose garden, and stop by Ms. T's Good to Go Cafe for some delicious handcrafted baked goods.

Sacramento's South Natomas library/community center and rose garden is home to the one-of-a-kind Poet Laureate Park designed by Troy Corliss and featuring poems/fragments from Viola Weinberg, Dennis Schmitz, Jose Montoya, Julia Connor (who first conceived of this project), Bob Stanley, and Jeff Knorr. If you haven't yet visited this wonderful public art sculpture and park, mark your calendar for February 4 when Viola Weinberg and Sacramento's newest poet laureate, Indigo Moor, will share poetry, along with Davis poets laureate Allegra Silberstein and Andy Jones. 2 - 4 p.m. is the time for this family friendly event which will be held inside the community room of the South Natomas Library, adjacent to the park.

Crossroads Reading Series presents a Poets Laureate exclusive featuring Sacramento's first laureate, Viola Weinberg, and Sacramento's incoming (for 2017) laureate, Indigo Moor plus 2-time Davis Poet Laureate Dr. Andy Jones and Poet Laureate emeritus Allegra Silberstein. Jones is known to many throughout the region as a talk show host of Dr. Andy’s Poetry and Technology Hour on KDVS 90.3. Silberstein was the first Davis Poet Laureate, is a dancer, and hosts The Other Voice reading series. Hosted by Trina Drotar and Sandy Thomas on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at South Natomas Library, Truxel Road, Sacramento, CA 95833, home of the one and only Poet Laureate Park.
