🌽🚜 HARVEST SEASON IS HERE — PLEASE SHARE THE ROAD! 🚜🌽
Harvest is underway across Renville County, which means our roadways will be seeing more combines, tractors, grain carts, semis, and other slow-moving farm equipment.
Whether you’re heading to work, school, the field, or home for the day, a little patience can prevent a serious crash.
As you travel our rural roads this harvest season:
🚜 Slow down early when approaching farm equipment.
↔️ Give equipment plenty of room — machinery may be wider than it appears and can extend across the centerline.
⚠️ Watch for sudden turns. Farm equipment may need to swing wide before turning into a field or driveway.
👀 Pass only when you can clearly see that it is safe. Hills, curves, intersections, and field approaches can hide oncoming traffic.
📵 Put the phone down and stay alert. Closing speeds can be deceiving when approaching slow-moving equipment.
🌅 Use extra caution at dawn, dusk, and after dark, when equipment and field entrances can be harder to see.
Our farmers are working long hours to bring in the harvest, and everyone on the road has somewhere they need to be.
Slow down. Be patient. Share the road. Let’s make sure everyone gets home safely.
