Public libraries have always held more than just books—and we can prove it! Check out a selection of donations to the library as recorded in our Gift Book, a record which began when the library first opened its doors 126 years ago today on October 10, 1910.

While many of the items are stored safely in our archives, others have since been loaned out to places like the Whaling Museum and Pierson Middle-High School or simply lost to time. In some cases, the photos in this post are used for illustrative purposes only and may not accurately represent the items which are held in our archives.

As always these books can be found among the stacks (or even on display now) at JJML. Happy Reading!
