Saginaw Spirit Pride Night 2026 is quickly approaching in just two Fridays! Get your fundraiser donation ticket to give back to the community while getting an entertaining game out of it. 🏒

This event, held at the Dow Event Center, brings together community members and families for a night of live entertainment between Saginaw Spirit and Flint Firebirds, representation in sports, and fun activities.

Hearth Home offers free, quick, and confidential HIV testing, along with PrEP navigation and prevention resources.

October 15 | National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day

Today, we recognize National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD), a day dedicated to raising awareness about HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and reducing stigma within Hispanic and Latinx communities.

HIV prevention starts with education, access to care, and open conversations. By breaking down barriers and encouraging routine testing, we can continue working toward healthier communities.

At Hearth Home, a program of Great Lakes Bay Health Centers, we remain committed to providing free HIV testing, PrEP education and navigation, and access to prevention resources for those who need them.

Know your status. Get tested. End the stigma.

🕯️Who was Matthew Shepard?

Described by friends and family as kind and easy to talk to, Matthew Shepard was a college student and victim of one of the most notorious anti-gay hate crimes in American history. His memorial service garnered immense national and international media attention, which brought Matt’s story to the forefront of the fight against bigotry and hate. Just over a decade later (in 2009), the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act—a federal law against bias crimes directed at le***an, gay, bis*xual, or transgender people—was passed.

The life and death of Matthew Shepard changed the way we talk about, and deal with, anti-LGBTQ+ hate in the United States. Since his death, Matt’s legacy has challenged and inspired millions of individuals to replace hate with understanding, compassion, and acceptance.

Today we remember Matthew Shepard, and share gratitude for our friends at Matthew Shepard Foundation, who continue to do such critical work in his honor.

Matthew, you are gone but never forgotten. 🕯🌈
