🚨 We’ve gotten a little bit behind with posting, but we couldn’t skip sharing our August meeting!

In August, we had the opportunity to tour the TDEM District Emergency Operations Center and learn more about the work that takes place there.

We learned about TDEM’s role in emergency management and disaster response and toured the facility, including the warehouse, getting a firsthand look at some of the resources and operations that support communities throughout the region.

This was also the first meeting for several of our new members, and we were glad to have members from Fort Worth CERT and Citizens on Patrol join us as well!

It was a great learning experience for everyone and a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the emergency management resources and partnerships that help keep our communities prepared

NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) is a great way to stay informed of the latest, real-time weather conditions, forecasts, and of course watches, warnings and advisories issued directly from your National Weather Service. 📻

Most NWRs allow you to set your location, so you’ll only receive emergency alerts for your area. And the portable NWR option is perfect for camping trips when cell phone service may be unreliable! 🏕️weather.gov/nwr/
