A beautiful sunny first weekend of autumn! Great weather for autumn camping.

Happy first day of autumn! As we are going into the autumn season, temperatures will begin to drop and we begin to ponder when the campground's water will be turned off for the season. Shutting off the campground's water is weather dependant and typically is turned off around the first week of October. The treehouses will have water all year round for those staying at the treehouses in the colder months. Weather this week is still looking favorable, so come out and enjoy the autumn camping season!

What a beautiful last weekend of summer we have upon us. With the changing of seasons also comes some changes in park operations.
-Our Boat Rental program has finished for the season. You are still allowed to enjoy the lake on your personal boats.
-Our visitor center hours will be changing as well. This Friday(9/18) and Saturday(9/19) the visitor center will be open from 1pm to 7pm. After this weekend visitor center hours will operate 1pm to 4pm (as long we have available staff).

Join a certified master naturalist this Thursday, September 10th, for a Stream Discovery Adventure. There will be a short hike to the bridge that crosses cocolalla stream followed by a fun stream adventure activity. Meet at the trailhead at 2:00 pm. Sturdy footwear is recommended. This hike is geared towards individuals and small families.

Thanks to the rain we have recieved, Stage 2 Fire Restrictions have been downgraded to Stage 1 Fire Restrictions. This means you can have campfires in designated metal fire rings at developed campgrounds and picnic areas.

**Update**
Sorry for the cancelation today, but we have rescheduled the Stream Discovery Adventure to September 10th at 2:00PM.

Join a certified master naturalist this Thursday, August 27th, for a stroll along the park's trails to discover some of the diverse species that call Round Lake home. Meet at the visitor center at 9:00 am. Sturdy footwear is recommended. This hike is geared towards individuals and small families.

This Thursday, August 20th, join a master naturalist for a habitat scavenger hunt and explore the diverse habitats you can find here at Round Lake State Park. Meet at the visitor center at 9am. All ages welcome!

This Thursday, August 13th, join a certified master naturalist for a stroll along the park's trails to discover some of the birds that call our park home. Meet at the Visitor Center at 9am. Please leave pets at home for this hike.

***Closure August 10-22, 2026***

We will have two new park operated backcountry cabins that will be installed on the western park boundary in the coming weeks, however a temporary trail closure will be necessary to facilitate the installation of them. Please plan accordingly.

We do not have an anticipated opening date for these rentals but will update as soon as we can!
