Friday night, August 28, our two favorite teams will meet on the Cheylin home court as the St. Francis Indians take on the Cheylin Cougars (rumors have it, Northern Valley will be there too) in what we expect to be an exciting set of volleyball matches! 🏐

And this one hits a little closer to home for us at the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office. We have proud parents and family members of student-athletes on both teams, which means there might be just a little friendly rivalry brewing around the office as we count down to game night! 😂

Jokes aside, we couldn’t be prouder of the student-athletes at both schools. These young women work hard, represent their schools and communities with pride, and we’re excited to cheer them on!

Good luck to both the Indians and the Cougars! May the Sheriff’s Office survive the rivalry! 😎🏐

🐍 A Call, A Race, and a Thank You We Won’t Forget 🐍

Recently, a Cheyenne County resident was bitten by a rattlesnake—an emergency where every second matters. One of our deputies quickly stepped up and made the run to obtain additional anti-venom, helping ensure the victim received the care they needed.

Situations like this remind us just how unpredictable—and serious—rural emergencies can be. We’re proud of the quick action taken and grateful the outcome was a positive one.

Not long after, we received what might be one of the best thank-you cards we’ve ever gotten. 🖤 The drawing and message say it all, and it’s a reminder of why we do this job every day.

To Kathleen Obrecht and the Obrecht family—thank you for your kindness and for allowing us to share this.
The rolls were delicious. 😋
