The St. George Police Department would like to congratulate Officer Sharpe on receiving the Life Saving Award during the October 12, 2026, Town Council meeting!

On July 28, 2026, Officer Sharpe responded to an individual threatening to jump from an Interstate 95 overpass. For more than two hours, Officer Sharpe stood on that bridge, speaking with a man who believed he had nothing left to live for. Through patience, compassion, and determination, he refused to give up on him.

Sometimes the greatest accomplishment an officer can have is simply making sure someone gets another tomorrow. Officer Sharpe's actions are a powerful reminder that law enforcement is about more than enforcing laws. It's about protecting lives, showing compassion, and making a difference when it matters most.

We are incredibly proud to have Officer Sharpe representing our department and serving our community. Congratulations, Officer Sharpe! Your actions truly represent the very best of what it means to wear the badge!
