Today, we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a time to honor the rich cultures, languages and traditions of Tribal Nations, and the children, families and communities who carry them forward.

At DCYF, we are committed to supporting children in ways that respect cultural identity and acknowledge the importance of Indigenous knowledge and community strengths. When children see their culture reflected in their experiences, it supports belonging, confidence and lifelong growth.

We celebrate the resilience, leadership, and contributions of Tribal Nation communities across Mni Sóta, today and every day.

It’s PFAS Awareness Week! PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals”, are a large group of human-made chemicals found in many everyday products. Because they don't break down easily, they can stay in the environment for a long time. Minnesota is taking action by:
- Coordinating action through the PFAS Blueprint.
- Reducing PFAS in products through Amara's Law.
- Monitoring PFAS and protecting public health.

Follow along this week to learn what PFAS are, why they matter, and what's being done to address them. Learn more: https://www.health.state.mn.us/communities/environment/hazardous/topics/pfasaware.html

Important update for Medical Assistance enrollees: We've extended the time to use the Renewal Lookup tool to check whether our records show you must meet new federal work requirements next year. Checking now will help ensure we have the most up to date information.

1️⃣ Go to mnrenewallookup.com.

2️⃣ If our records show you will need to meet the requirements, you’ll see a “Work or Community Engagement” section in the Lookup tool.

3️⃣ Follow the steps in that section. If you expect to qualify for an exemption or qualifying activity, you can tell us now.

Get the details about work requirements and exemptions at mn.gov/dhs/federalchanges/work-requirements.
