💜 Did you know? Not all relationships are healthy, and abuse isn’t always physical.
Healthy relationships are built on respect, trust, honesty, equality, and the freedom to be yourself. Unhealthy relationships may involve disrespect, pressure, or control, while abusive relationships can include patterns of intimidation, manipulation, isolation, and fear.
At Umbrella, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected in their relationships.
Knowing the difference matters. Share this post to help raise awareness and remind someone that support is always available. 💜

💜 Did you know? Alcohol or substance misuse is involved in an estimated 40–60% of domestic violence situations.
At Umbrella, we recognize that substance use and domestic violence can intersect in complex ways. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Kingdom Recovery to offer our Seeking Safety Group, providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space for individuals navigating trauma, substance use, and healing.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered on their journey toward recovery.

💜 The Power & Control Wheel helps us understand that abuse is about more than physical violence. It highlights the many ways power and control can show up in a relationship, from intimidation and isolation to emotional and financial abuse.

Understanding these behaviors is an important step toward recognizing unhealthy and abusive relationships, supporting survivors, and building safer communities.

At Umbrella, we believe everyone deserves relationships rooted in respect, equality, and safety. Knowledge is power

💜 Did You Know?

Abuse can take many different forms. It isn’t always physical. Emotional, financial, and psychological abuse can be just as harmful, and recognizing these forms of abuse is an important part of creating safer, healthier relationships.

At Umbrella, we support survivors of all forms of abuse, offering advocacy and support tailored to each person’s needs. This can include advocacy, housing support, parenting support after trauma, and so much more.

Most importantly, we meet people where they are and let their needs lead the way.

💜 Did You Know?

Domestic violence doesn’t just impact adults—it affects millions of children every year. According to the Resource Center on Domestic Violence: Child Protection and Custody, approximately 4 million children are impacted by domestic violence annually.

At Umbrella, we know that children and teens need support, too. That’s why we have two dedicated Youth Advocates who work directly with young people impacted by violence, helping them build safety, connection, resilience, and hope.

No child should have to navigate these experiences alone. Umbrella is here to help. 💜
