This week several of your Royalton Firefighters joined others from across the Midwest and Canada and attended a Blue Card command Big Box workshop. The information presented will allow us to better serve our community with best practices for fires in sprinklered buildings and in large square footage “big box” buildings.
This was an incredible opportunity to learn, share experiences, and challenge ourselves in realistic, high-stakes incident command scenarios. Training alongside firefighters from different departments and regions provided a great perspective on leadership, communication, strategy, and the importance of having a common approach to managing complex fireground operations.

Did you know that in areas where there are no hydrants, we have to use alternate methods to supply water? Several members of our department spent the weekend learning ways we can use our apparatus to efficiently serve our non-hydranted areas. We also got to experience using a SAM system! Many thanks to The Water Thieves for sharing the knowledge and BHDPS for hosting.

This month, we celebrate the men and women who answer the call—often without hesitation, and often without knowing what they’ll face.

To every firefighter who runs toward the emergency while others are running away: thank you.

Thank you for the long hours, the late-night calls, the training, the sacrifices, and the commitment to protecting your neighbors and community.

To our families who support us, our fellow first responders who stand beside us, and our community members who show their appreciation—we couldn’t do it without you.

On September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a great tragedy that would change countless lives forever. Today, 25 years later, we continue to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families forever changed, the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, dispatchers, military members, and civilians who showed extraordinary courage.

Remembering means more than looking back—it means choosing how we live today.

This September 11:
🇺🇸 Remember someone who was lost.
🤝 Thank a first responder or service member.
❤️ Check on a neighbor, friend, or loved one.
🫶 Serve your community.
🚒 Support those who answer the call.

Let’s honor their legacy with compassion, service, and unity.
Stand together. Serve together. Remember together.

💙💜 SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE AWARENESS MONTH 💜💙

At Royalton Township Fire Department, we know that not every emergency is visible. Sometimes, the people who need help the most are the ones who are silently struggling.

This month, we encourage everyone to check in, listen, and be there. A simple “Are you okay?” can open the door to a conversation that could save a life.

❤️ You matter. Your life matters. There is hope.
