Last week, a few of your local firefighters spent the day visiting local schools and teaching students about fire safety! In total, we had the opportunity to reach approximately 200 students.

The kids got to see the fire trucks, check out our firefighting gear, and even spray some water!

Thank you to our local schools for this opportunity! Kennedy Community School

🚒 Recent Drill Night!

Our members spent the evening at the station working through several hands-on training stations focused on building skills, confidence, and preparedness.

SCBA Confidence Trailer: Members had the opportunity to work through the SCBA confidence trailer, focusing on navigating tight spaces, maintaining composure in low-visibility environments, and building confidence while operating on air. Training like this helps prepare our firefighters for challenging situations they may encounter on an emergency scene.

Drafting Operations: We also spent time practicing drafting skills, working on establishing a water supply from a static water source. These skills are important for ensuring our crews can effectively supply water to an apparatus when hydrants are not available.

Area Familiarization – College of Saint Benedict: Our members also reviewed the layout and surroundings of the College of Saint Benedict. Becoming familiar with campus buildings, access points, and potential response challenges helps our firefighters better prepare for an emergency at a large and busy campus.

Continuous training is an important part of what we do. Taking the time to practice these skills helps ensure our members are ready to respond when our community needs us most!
