The Elk County Community Foundation is pleased to share the continued impact of the James and Gloria Straub Pinecrest Manor Activities Fund, established in memory of James and Gloria Straub. The fund provides ongoing support to Penn-Highlands Pinecrest Manor's Activities Department, helping deliver programs, experiences, and resources that promote residents' happiness, engagement, and overall well-being.

Gloria Straub volunteered at Pinecrest Manor, where she enjoyed spending time with residents and supporting the Activities Department. In honor of James and Gloria, their family established a fund at the Elk County Community Foundation to continue supporting something that was meaningful to Gloria during her lifetime.

Today, that legacy continues through funding for activities, equipment, and supplies that enrich the lives of Pinecrest Manor residents.

Recent purchases supported by the fund include games that provide opportunities for recreation, socialization, and group engagement; a stereo system for music-based activities; art supplies to encourage creativity; and fidget boards for sensory engagement. The fund also supported the purchase of a laptop, an iPad, and a protective case, allowing residents to stay connected with family and friends through video calls, messaging, and other forms of communication. For residents whose loved ones live farther away or can't visit often, these opportunities for connection can be especially meaningful.

Congratulations to the Stackpole-Hall Foundation on its 75th anniversary! Back in the late 1990s, a visionary group of business and civic leaders recognized the need for a perpetual funding stream to support Elk County's future. With generous backing from the Stackpole-Hall Foundation, that vision became reality with the establishment of the Elk County Community Foundation. Today, we continue to work together to ensure our community thrives now and for generations to come.

🎉 Celebrating 75 Years of Giving and Community Impact! 🎉

In 1951, three visionary men—Lyle G. Hall Sr., J. Hall Stackpole, and Harrison C. Stackpole—established the Stackpole-Hall Foundation with a commitment to giving back and improving the lives of others.

Today, 75 years later, their remarkable legacy continues! ❤️

🌟 75 Years of Giving
💙 More Than $50 Million in Grants Awarded
🏡 Countless Lives and Communities Impacted

From education and healthcare to emergency services, community development, recreation, the environment, and arts and culture, the Foundation's impact can be seen throughout Elk County and beyond.

But our story is about so much more than dollars granted. It's about the generations of Hall and Stackpole family members and Trustees who have carried forward the founders' vision, and the countless organizations, volunteers, and community leaders who have turned that generosity into meaningful change.

As Chairman Alexander “Sandy” Sheble-Hall shared:

“Our responsibility has always been greater than any one generation. We are stewards of something that was created to endure and to continue making a difference in the lives of others.”

As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the organizations, community partners, and individuals who have been part of this incredible 75-year journey.

❤️ Three founders. 75 years. More than $50 million in giving. One enduring legacy.

Here's to honoring our past, celebrating the impact being made today, and continuing to invest in the future of our communities for generations to come!

Women Who Care extends its deepest gratitude to all members whose dedication and contributions make this community impact possible. Special thanks go to Beth Constable and the volunteers at the Johnsonburg Fire Department for providing a delicious meal, and to Connie Crawford for making the celebratory cake for this historic milestone.

Titan Co****le Supports Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Fund with $600 Donation.

The spirit of giving continues in memory of Fr. Eric Vogt, as Titan Co****le recently hosted a charitable co****le tournament that raised $600 for the Fr. Eric Vogt Memorial Fund at the Elk County Community Foundation.

Titan Co****le regularly brings people together through tournaments that support local organizations and charitable causes. This October, they chose to honor Fr.
