Mission Statement/Services
The Auglaize County Council on Aging, Inc’s first mission is to assist the elderly, age 60+, of Auglaize County by providing direct services to aid the elderly in remaining independent and a resourceful part of the community. Eligibility Requirements:
Must be an Auglaize County resident, aged 60 or over. Clients must agree to an initial assessment to be completed by an Outreach Specialist. Cost for Services:
Services are provided free of charge with the exception of Prescription Meal Service. Priority Services Provided:
1) Outreach I – Initial assessment for client 2) Outreach II – Speakers, Newsletter
3) Transportation – In and out of county medical; Coordinated Transportation
4) Chore – Heavy cleaning, seasonal needs, errands, minor home repairs
5) Homemaker – Light house cleaning
6) Transitional Meals – Temporary Specialized Home Delivered Meal Program
7) Information and Referral 8) Socialization and Mealsites
9) Carrier Alert – with county Post Offices
10) Safe Return – with Alzheimer’s Association (11) File/Vial of Life
12) Friendly Visitor (13) Golden Age Interaction (14) Wellness Information Center
(15) Legal Aid/Mental Health Appts. (16) Vet 2 Vet Support Group

Christmas card time my friends!!!!!! We got 6 weeks to sign as many cards as you can so I can get them packed up n mailed overseas or on an Air Force plane. No need to put your last name on the card, hand written happy sentiments r allowed, hand drawn pictures r ok too. Please no negative thoughts, please dont mention home or family either. Place them in envelope. Dont lick them closed in case they have to be inspected .
We sent over 2 thousand five hundred cards last year between Auglaize County Council on Aging and my great friends on facebook The year prior we sent over 4 thousand!!!!.
Church youth groups, card club, school classes, are all welcome to join us. Many drop at the meal sites, or drop on my front porch. We've got a LOT of people deployed right now. IF you have a loved one serving n have a complete APO address, we can send them some cards too. I want to collect them by VETERANS day !!! Thanks for all your support. Shannon Cottle-Hadding

The Auglaize County Council on Aging will be holding a 50th Anniversary luncheon on Tuesday, September 22nd. There will entertainment along with a free meal. If you would like to attend contact us at 419-394-8252 to register. Anyone is welcome to attend, but you must be signed up so that enough food is ordered.
The entertainment begins at 10:30 AM.
