Forward Independence Forward Independence is a MN political movement for those done with partisan warfare. Home of "MN Forward Together" coalition. Not Left. Not Right. FORWARD!

We stand for accountability, fiscal responsibility, civil discourse, & putting country over party. In 1992, a group of Minnesota citizens established a brand new political party—the Independence Party. These bold, visionary citizens were not part of the political elite, captains of industry, or members of the idle rich looking to fill some time. They were ordinary citizens whose disgust with constant budget deficits, big money special interest influence, and extreme ideological dominance forced them to action. They started a political party grounded in core principles of direct service and accountability to the people, whose government can and will budget sensibly and deliver within its means, and whose endorsed candidates and elected representatives serve the people first, first, and first. This party would not be governed by extremists or big (special interest) money, but by moderate, common sense approaches to public policy issues. In July 2025, the then-named Independence-Alliance Party of Minnesota merged with the Forward Party of Minnesota to become Forward Independence. Join us!

OFFICIAL ENDORSEMENT: TRENT DILKS FOR MN SENATE DISTRICT 13

If you want to start electing common-sense people who are running for office for all the right reasons, a great place to start is Trent Dilks in Senate District 13.

Forward Independence is proud to officially endorse Trent for MN 13

Trent is a military veteran and veterans advocate who wants to solve problems and get things done, not play partisan political games.

He's already demonstrated that commitment by joining the Minnesota Forward Together Coalition and pledging to put people over party.

Minnesota needs more leaders like Trent Dilks. We encourage voters in District 13 to send him to St. Paul!

Tara Killen is running for Minnesota Senate District 10 because she wants to serve her constituents, not spend her time fighting party battles.

She's one of ten candidates statewide who have joined the Minnesota Forward Together Coalition, committing to put people over party in St. Paul.

Her opponent, incumbent Nathan Wesenberg, has refused to debate her or appear at candidate forums with her.

We're seeing this trend with incumbents across Minnesota. If you won't show up for the job interview, why should voters give you the job?

Sam Grigsby is the latest candidate to join the Minnesota Forward Together Coalition.

Grigsby is the endorsed DFL candidate for Minnesota House District 6A and joins a growing coalition of candidates from across the political spectrum who are committed to putting people over party in St. Paul.

Grigsby has a long history of community service, having served as an EMT, firefighter, state fire instructor, and police reserve officer. He has also served on numerous nonprofit boards in the Grand Rapids area.

The Minnesota Forward Together Coalition brings together candidates who believe in working across party lines, treating others with respect, and putting constituents first.

We encourage the voters in District 6A to give their vote to Samuel Grigsby for MN House District 6A to help change the way business is done in St. Paul.

We've heard from candidates across Minnesota who ran as Republicans or Democrats but told us they would have preferred to run with Forward Independence if not for the signature requirements to get on the ballot.

If Jay Reeves receives at least 8% of the vote in the State Auditor race, Forward Independence would earn major-party status in Minnesota and be on a level playing field with Democrats and Republicans.

Think about what that could mean.

In heavily Democratic areas of Minneapolis, candidates who don't align with the Republican Party could challenge the incumbent as a Forwardist committed to getting things done. In Greater Minnesota, where the DFL label is a political liability, moderates could run with Forward Independence.

More candidates running under a party that reflects their beliefs. More choices for Minnesota voters.

He's ready to continue his service as State Auditor but he needs your help.

Jay has a background in data-driven problem-solving, and a plan to proactively protect our tax dollars by identifying fraud and waste before they happen.
