On this day in 1787, 39 delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia signed our new Constitution, and it has guided America ever since. We are beyond blessed to live in a country built on freedom and where the power rests with us, the people. Happy Constitution Day!

A whole generation has grown up since the 9/11 attacks --- a generation that doesn’t remember what it was like that day and, just as important, what it was like before. It is up to us to keep sharing those stories and keep those memories alive.

God Bless America.

Recently I had the honor of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Bobber Inn and Suites in Pequot. Everyone involved has taken on a heavy lift to get to this important milestone and to make this project a reality. I know the Bobber Inn & Suites will be a tremendous success, but more importantly, this investment will benefit Pequot Lakes and the entire surrounding community for years to come!

Last week several of us legislators who represent northern MN sent a letter to Gov. Walz asking him to reconsider his anti-mining executive order. His order was purely political, a way to try to get his massive fraud scandals out of the headlines. It's bad for communities up here and it is bad for the state of Minnesota.

This is super exciting!

This is super exciting!

In case you missed it, we officially broke ground yesterday in Pequot Lakes! 🚜

We are so honored to have had Mayor Tyler Gardner, Representative Josh Heintzeman, Representative Krista Knudsen, and Senator Keri Heintzeman celebrate this huge community milestone with us. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly to the neighborhood!

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our incredible project partners and community groups who joined the shovel line: Wyndham, BankVista, Midwest Business Finance Corporation (MBFC), SBDC, Widseth, the Pequot Lakes Chamber of Commerce, the Initiative Foundation, Pequot Lakes Community Action, and of course, our builders at Level Contracting, LLC.

We are one step closer to opening our doors! Be sure to check out bobberinn.com for updates as we build. 🎣

Please read this great article by my friend Representative Cal Warwas about Gov. Walz's anti-mining executive order.

"I’m here to talk about something that matters even more to the people I represent: a betrayal of trust by a governor who clearly knows better."

In the Star Tribune this morning -

For years, Walz told us that when it came to mining, he would call balls and strikes. Projects would undergo environmental review. Minnesota’s laws and regulations would be applied. If a project could meet our standards, it could move forward. If it couldn’t, it wouldn’t. That was a reasonable position.

Apparently the strike zone changed.

This is just another desperate act of a failed governor trying to keep his name in the headlines for something other than the disastrous fraud he has allowed to run rampant. Minnesota has one of the most rigorous permitting processes in the country. Gov. Walz knows full well that we can protect the environment and mine safely. I know folks up here are frustrated that Democrats continue to use their livelihoods for these political games. Whoever holds that office next needs to prioritize building up northern Minnesota’s economy and supporting the families who call this area home.

I wanted to re-share a column I wrote earlier this summer about Friends of the Boundary Waters using public dollars for political activism. I've been asked about this a few times, so I thought it would be worth sharing again:

Near the end of the 2026 legislative session, I offered an amendment to remove $1.2 million in funding for Friends of the Boundary Waters from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. The amendment received bipartisan support, and that funding was ultimately removed from the final bill sign...
