Fellow gardening enthusiasts are invited to sort seeds with us, Saint Paul Public Library, and Urban Roots at Community Seed Circle on Wednesday, October 21, in the Dayton's Bluff Library. From 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., we'll be replenishing the East Side Seed Library and chatting with neighbors about all things gardening. Orientation is provided for volunteers, and free tea is available for everyone. 🌱

With the midterm elections right around the corner, we've gathered an array of election fact sheets and books on voting to help our Metro community make their voice heard. These sheets can tell you how to vote as well as what accommodations are available for voters who are disabled or whose primary language is not English. Feel free to take one with you and check out a book with your Metro State ID or community borrower card. 🗳 📚

Minnesota Community Care will be back on Thursday, October 15, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. for free HIV testing and sexual education. The tests are private and confidential, with results delivered in just one minute. Visit their table outside our first-floor Fireplace Lounge on Thursday for details.

As the weather gets colder and the days get shorter, don’t forget to take care of your mental health!

Did you know your university library has a light therapy station on the second floor? We also have a portable light therapy box that you can check out at the first-floor desk and bring into a study room with you! It’s a great resource as we head into the darker months when seasonal affective disorder becomes a concern for many people.

Remember, if you need additional support with depression, stress, grief or any other mental health concerns, Metro Counseling Services have virtual and in-person hours Monday through Friday as well as a 24/7 support line.
