It may only be October, but we’re already gathering community partners to help make a success.

Empty Bowls brings together local businesses, artists, chefs, volunteers, and Daystar supporters to help fight hunger in Pinellas County.

Your sponsorship empowers us to continue providing healthy food to more than 20,000 people each year through our food pantry and garden, where we grow 65 varieties of produce.

Thank you to our partner Publix for supporting our community with a $13,000 grant!

Publix partners with nonprofits to help alleviate hunger, reduce homelessness, support youth and education, and strengthen communities. We’re grateful for their investment in our neighbors and their commitment to helping people live with dignity.

Their grant will support our Healthy Pantry Program for seniors. Statewide, 10% of seniors face food insecurity. Through our food pantry, we provide household staples and fresh produce grown in our garden to our Pinellas County neighbors.

Publix will also be the Premier Sponsor of the 4th annual Clay Center of St. Petersburg’s Empty Bowls event, benefiting Daystar. We’re honored to have them play such an important role in our most important fundraiser of the year.

🎳👻 Boo-ling for a Cause was a striking success! Thank you to everyone who came out to bowl, give, and cheer each other on. It was so good to see familiar faces and meet brand-new neighbors joining the Daystar community.

Every strike, spare, and silly costume helped keep Pinellas County fed and healthy.

Meredith told us, "Giving back is in my DNA! My earliest memories are of making Valentines for nursing home residents, Christmas caroling for shut-ins, and helping put on a Halloween carnival for the local children's home. At Daystar, I get to take the skills and relationships I've spent years building to help our neighbors through life's most difficult moments."
