🎃 ROYAL BATTALION,

I just confirmed with our Principal that for Friday’s (the 30th) Period 5 JROTC Halloween Costume Contest, Cadets must bring their costumes to school and change into them during their LET-level class.

You may wear your costumes during your Periods 1, 2, 3, or 4, including Period 5 for the contest. However, costumes are not permitted to be worn elsewhere on campus or during other classes.

Please make sure you follow these guidelines. Let’s have a fun and safe Halloween costume contest!

Good evening Royal Raider Parents and guardians:
I want to extend a massive thank you to all the parents who came out to Hudson HS this weekend to support our Raider cadets! Your presence, cheers, and logistics support mean the world to the team and truly fuel their energy on the field.

Our cadets fought hard and took 4th place Overall, including earning 3rd place trophies in Cross Country Rescue and the Raider Challenge!

As we prepare for the District meet in three weeks, we will be hitting the ground running with practice early mornings from 6:00–7:00 AM and after school from 2:30–4:30 PM. Thank you for your continued dedication in getting your cadets to and from these sessions—we could not achieve these milestones without your incredible backing. Thank you for being such an essential part of our Royal Raider family!

Out of 13 JROTC programs competing at Hudson Raider meet, our Hollins JROTC earned the following placements:

1. Cross Country Rescue: 3rd Place

2. Obstacle Course: 3rd Place

3. 3-Mile Run: 4th Place

4. Rope Bridge: 4th Place

5. Tire Flip: 7th Place

Royal Battalion Parent & Guardian,
Our Royals Battalion is competing in a Raider competition this Saturday October 17th!

Key Details:
* Location: Hudson High School (14410 Cobra Way, Hudson, FL 34669).

* Uniform & Gear: Competing cadets must wear their OCP pants with their Blue Raider shirt and boots. They must also bring their Camelbak, a pair of running shoes, a clean change of clothes for the ride back, and a trash bag/sport bag to pack away their dirty, sweaty gear.

* Transportation: Provided via school vans driven by myself and CSM.

* Timeline: Meet at Hollins High School between 4:30 AM and 4:45 AM. We estimate returning in the late afternoon.

* Food Provided: We will provide morning snacks and lunch for the competing cadets. Cadets are encouraged to bring additional food/ drinks as needed.

For Spectators & Supporters:

We warmly invite all parents, guardians, and fellow Royals Battalion JROTC cadets to come out and cheer us on!

* What to bring: If you are attending, please bring your own food, water, chairs, umbrella for shade and anything else needed for a full day out in the Florida heat.

Important Prep at Home:

Parents, please help assist your cadets to properly hydrate and fuel during the days leading up to Saturday. Pre-hydration is critical for their safety and performance in the Florida heat!

Good afternoon, Royal Battalion!

Friendly reminder to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors taking the ASVAB tomorrow:

* Bring a fully charged laptop to school.
* Bring your laptop charger as a backup, if needed. However, please understand that there are no longer power outlets available at the tables for you to plug in your devices.
* Plan to remain in our classroom for at least three class periods to complete the examination.

Come prepared, arrive on time, and be ready to do your best!

Attention, Cadets!
Only sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be taking the ASVAB examination on Tuesday, October 13.

If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior and have already earned a high ASVAB score, you do not need to retake the examination. Your most recent score is the one that counts, so retaking the test could potentially result in a lower score.

You should not assume that the highest score automatically counts or that the most recent score always replaces the previous one without checking the applicable rules.
For military enlistment, the official policy is to use the most recent valid ASVAB score, not automatically the highest score. A valid retest invalidates the previous results. 
Example:
First test: 55
Retest: 48
Score used for enlistment: 48, assuming the retest is valid.

Please make sure you understand whether you are required to test and come prepared if you are on the ASVAB roster.
