The Marion County Clerk's office was honored to receive a visit today from Mr. Cary O'Dell!! Mr O'Dell has family roots in Kinmundy and works for the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. He recently wrote and posted an article from 1975 pertaining to the 5 convicts who had escaped from the Marion, IL federal prison and made their way into Marion County. For 3 of them, the trail ended here. This article and other interesting historical memorabilia are on display in room 202 at your Marion County courthouse. Mr O'Dell was kind enough to send all of the pictures and news clippings to us that he used to write his article.
