The latest U.S. Drought Monitor shows Moderate Drought (D1) expanding across much of southern Illinois. With dry crops, dry vegetation and leaves beginning to fall, the risk of fires spreading quickly is increasing.

🔥 Help prevent a fire by taking a few precautions:
🚫 Limit outdoor burning, especially on dry and windy days.
🚬 Properly extinguish and dispose of ci******es. Never toss them out of a vehicle or onto dry vegetation.
🍂 Be mindful of dry leaves and grass that can easily ignite.
