Garten Services Garten Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides jobs for over 500 adults with disabilities in Oregon's Willamette Valley each year.

Through close relationships with local area businesses and Garten's own business enterprises, we recruit, train and place skilled workers with disabilities into our community's workforce. We help people with developmental disabilities and long-term mental illness become contributing taxpayers rather than dependents on social service programs. This frees up ever-diminishing social service dollars to be used in the support of higher-need individuals. At Garten, we augment community placements with employment opportunities in our own fee-for-services professional enterprises: confidential document shredding, commercial laundry, custodial, electronics refurbishing and recycling, mail services, recycling, hand packaging & assembly, and order fulfillment. We also provide a day activities program for seniors with disabilities who have aged out of the work force, helping them remain physically, socially and intellectually active—and engaged in their community.

Looks like our shred truck has officially gone quack to school!

We had to make a stop at the University of Oregon, and let’s just say this truck is looking pretty ducking good on campus.

We're in Eugene shredding documents and protecting confidential information; Garten is always ready to support the flock.

What a night at the House of Garten!

With the incredible support of the Salem Convention Center and our magnificent presenting sponsor, Oregon State Credit Union, we created a night to remember right here in downtown Salem.

We heard powerful stories from Riley, Chris, Derek, and Ariana about how an inclusive community can make a lifelong difference.

When we first dreamed up the House of Garten, we wanted to create an event where people could come together with joy and a feeling of connectedness within our community. We truly believe our greatest asset is all of us working together.

Whether you shook a tail feather, found a surprise under your seat, felt inspired to give during the paddle raise, won a trip to Mexico, or simply came to see our emcees Josh and Auggie in action, you helped make this night special.

The doors to the House of Garten may be closing, but our mission will always continue.

Now, with the Rhythm of Opportunity pushing us forward, we're ready for whatever comes next.

Thank you for being part of the night. Thank you for believing in the mission. And thank you for helping us create a community where everyone has the opportunity to feel a sense of belonging.

This year’s theme continues the mission of Celebrating Value and Talent, as a reminder of something we see every day at Garten: people with disabilities bring real skills, talent, dedication, and value to the workplace.

With our social enterprises, we always aim to support individuals with disabilities not only to gain employment but to thrive within the Garten community.

A paycheck leads to independence. The ability to life a fulfilling life and feel welcome within the world around them. In this way, Garten always focuses on the values and talents of each employee and how we can help them achieve their goals.
