🚒❤️ HERO APPRECIATION DAY — TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6 ❤️🚒

This Hero Appreciation Day holds a little extra meaning for our AE family.

We are honored to dedicate the day to Battalion Chief Mike Anderson and to stand alongside his family during this incredibly difficult time. All proceeds from the day will be donated directly to his family.

We invite our community to come together, show your support, and help us honor a man who dedicated his life to serving others. ❤️‍🩹🚒

As always, First Responders, Active Military, Veterans and their immediate families receive FREE admission with valid proof of service.*

Salem Fire Department crews responded to a commercial fire at a vehicle wrecking yard in northeast Salem on Saturday evening, September 19.

The fire initially involved about 12 vehicles but, because of the close proximity of stacked vehicles in the wrecking yard, quickly spread and ultimately involved 47 vehicles. Nine Salem Fire Department, MCFD #1, and Kezer Fire District vehicles responded as crews worked to contain the fire and prevent further spread. The incident report confirms 47 vehicles were ultimately involved.

No injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced as a result of the incident. The fire remains under investigation.

Thank you to our firefighters and personnel who worked together to bring this incident under control safely.

It is with great sadness that MCFD 1 shares the loss of of C Shift Captain Mike Anderson and we are all devastated. We appreciate the outpouring of support and kind gestures. Please keep Mikes family in your thoughts and prayers.

Through internal and external partner support we remain ready to respond to calls for service.
