16 years. Never a missed visit. đź’™ Meet our Volunteer of the Month, Tina!

Tina has demonstrated an extraordinary level of devotion and unwavering advocacy to our mission of advocating for children in our community. For an incredible 16 years, she has been a steadfast and invaluable member of the CASA team, consistently showing what it truly means to be a dedicated CASA volunteer.

Most recently, she has been working with the same family since 2021, remaining committed despite the many challenges and complexities of the case. She never misses a visit with the children. Her commitment to the children has never wavered, even when the circumstances have been difficult.

Tina has built an exceptional partnership with the assigned Case Worker, collaborating closely and communicating consistently to ensure the children’s best interests remain at the forefront.

Her dedication is evident in every aspect of her CASA role. She goes above and beyond in her court reports, providing thoughtful and detailed information that helps ensure the court has a clear understanding of the children's circumstances and needs. She is never afraid to verbally advocate for the children in court and to ensure their voices and best interests are represented.

Tina is equally committed to working with her CASA Advocate Coordinator, never missing a case meeting and consistently coming prepared and engaged. Her reliability, perseverance, and unwavering advocacy are truly remarkable.

After 16 years of service, her dedication continues to be an inspiration. We are incredibly grateful for the countless hours she has given to CASA and to the children and families she has served.

Thank you, Tina for your extraordinary commitment and for never giving up on the children you advocate for. CASA is stronger because of volunteers like you, and we are so grateful to have you as part of our team!

Behind every child in foster care is a story they didn't choose.

For a child who has lived through violence or upheaval at home, one steady, trusted adult can change everything. That's what a CASA advocate is — a consistent voice who stands beside a child in court and in life.

You don't need a background in law or social work. You need to care, and we'll train you for the rest.

Our office is closing for 60 days. Our work for kids isn't. đź’™

Starting Monday, October 19, the CASA of Marion County office will be under renovation, and our team will be working remotely while construction is underway.

What isn't changing:
✔️ We'll be in court, in person, for the children we serve
✔️ We'll keep meeting with our volunteers and community partners
✔️ Day-to-day operations carry on as usual
✔️ Our phone lines stay open — call us anytime during business hours

We expect construction to wrap up in about 60 days. When it's done, we'll have a warmer, more welcoming space for kids, families, and the advocates who show up for them.

Want to help us get there? Give to our Building Renovation Fund today:

This is what “showing up” looks like.

In court, new CASA volunteers were formally recognized with their certificates—proof that real people in our community are stepping forward for kids in foster care.

If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to make a difference, becoming a CASA advocate is one powerful way to start. Training and support are provided—so you’re never doing this work alone.

Please join CASA in advocating at the Capitol! In the spring, CASA supporters from across the state will gather at the Oregon Capitol to visit with legislators about the difference a CASA can make in a child’s life. This event is our best opportunity to demonstrate community support for CASA in hopes of increasing awareness, enthusiasm, and funding for our child advocacy work. No need to have any prior experience or legislative connections (but let us know if you do).

RSVP required: https://oregoncasanetwork.coalitionmanager.org/formmanager/formsubmission/create?formId=159

See you at the Capitol!
