Community Library is happy to announce the addition of a new video streaming platform called Kanopy!

Kanopy provides instant access to thousands of critically acclaimed movies, documentaries, and kid favorites, AND you can stream Kanopy on any of your favorite devices! Kanopy is accessible via mobile and tablet apps for iPhone and Android. You can also access Kanopy on your Desktop, and SmartTV apps like Roku, Apple TV, and Fire Stick. With your Community Library card, you will receive monthly credits to view videos.

We’re back with another mystery! 🔎 Step into the shoes of an armchair detective in this interactive true crime discussion. You’ll receive a curated cold case “dossier” prepared by library staff, and together we’ll examine the facts, discuss theories, and try to answer the ultimate question: Who did it? This program is perfect for fans of true crime podcasts, documentaries, and forensic shows. No special knowledge required—just curiosity and a willingness to dive deep into the mystery.

This year’s Wisconsin Science Festival theme is “Us,” focusing on the science of who we are, human biology, and what makes us uniquely human. Learn about the human body, make a body from a paper bag, discover how lungs work, and create a DIY pumping heart model.

Get ready for the Wisconsin Science Festival 🐝This year, the festival is highlighting...Us! The science of who we are – a celebration of the brain and body, our place in the universe, and the discoveries and scientists that shape our shared wellbeing. Because science is human work and every curious mind belongs.

During the week of October 15, we’ll have free "Science in a Bag" take-home STEAM kits at both locations. Each kit contains 4-5 hands-on activities designed for K-12 students. Kits are limited to one per household and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

No need to mention the Friends of Community Library, just stop by for dinner to donate to a good cause!
