Tonight's debate in East Lyme With Lee Elci and opponent Martha "abusive foul mouth" Marx was very interesting for many reasons not least of which was the heavy handed moderator keeping a harsh lid on the standing room only crowd. Not a guffaw, laugh or titter went unadmonished followed by threats of ejection.
Unfortunately, the League of Women Voters brought broken sound equipment but the candidates spoke up well enough. Although most of the attendees were older and a poll might reveal some hearing frustration.
Lee represented his views well and boldly and despite moderator objection a raucous applause erupted at the end of closing statements from Lee's many appreciative supporters.
