Next week will the Environmental Book Club will be meeting and be discussing Robin Wall Kimerers "The Serviceberry" and the main ideas of gift economics, gratitude, and reciprocity rooted in indigenous thinking. You do not have to have read the book to participate or enjoy the discussion, but it is a short and incredible read! We will also be making re-used w**e bottles into cute pumpkins and ghosts! The w**e bottles are intended to be gifts so we will also have materials for Halloween cards.
Where: The Environmental Studies House (1206 S Camden Avenue, Salisbury MD)
- The house is located directly next to Scarborough Leadership Center
When: 5:30-6:30
What: All materials are provided!

We hope to see you there!

Salisbury University Nature RX is hosting an awesome photo contest for the SU community to participate in for prizes!!

SU NRx October Photo Contest

Deadline November 1

Two categories:
Category #1: People connecting in nature spaces on or off campus.
Category #2: People connecting to other life.

SU students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit one photo to each category.

Submission is via a Microsoft Form link. In the Form, participants are asked to confirm that the people in the photo give permission, and that we can present the images to the community.

A group of students (and perhaps faculty and staff) will select ten submissions to receive a SU NRx t-shirt or hat.

The images can be displayed in one or more places for fun: physical places on campus (I have funding to print them) and shared via Instagram or incorporated into new SU NRx posters, etc.

Giving a massive shoutout to SU Coastal Engineering student Brianna Spradlin and SU ENVR professor Dr. Shane Hall who were featured on Delmarva Life news coverage as a part of their report on the Salisbury University Summer research showcase. Brianna spent the summer with the advisement of Dr.Hall on her research project centered around finding community-based tactics on coastline resilience. Amongst the pressing issue of sea level rise it is imperative for students to be researching innovative ways to combat it. Congratulations Brianna and Dr.Hall!
