Thank you to two good samaritans, Phillip and Jasmine who helped Salisbury Police Department's Victim Advocate today! She encountered some car troubles and they stopped to check on her. They helped get the car started and out of the road. Dr. McLaughlin, who is also a Chaplain stated her appreciation, "Thank you so much. God is good!"

School Resource Officers (SROs) complete extra training and certifications for working in the schools alongside the school administration. While their primary duty is the safety of the students and security of the school, our SROs do something else that is just as impactful. They are mentors and liaisons to our cityβs youth. They teach students about police interactions every day, even just talking in the hallways. They show kids how officers are human and many times also parents.
It takes a lot to take on a responsibility looking after kids that are not your own. Congratulations on completing another year in our schools. Thank you SRO Miller and SRO Anderson for being present, protecting our schools, and most of all being mentors to your students.
Salisbury's National Cemetery Annex was officially announced and designated on Memorial Day, 1999. Groundbreaking took place on Pearl Harbor Day (Dec 7), 1999.
For 250 years we have had dedicated men and women serve our country and defend our Constitution. Today we hold a moment of silence. One small act to remember those no longer with us and to show appreciation for all they gave us.

Congratulations to Salisbury High's Class of 2026. Graduates, you did it! All your work got you here and we wish you the best as you walk from this stage into your future.
Family members, thank you for all the support you gave through the years, turning your baby boys and baby girls into young men and women ready to make a difference in the world.
Graduates, no matter how busy you get don't forget to call home on the weekends.
(Moms & Dads love that.)

Salisbury, NC has a long history with our nation's military. The Confederate Prison was made a National Cemetery and officially dedicated in 1874. It's a peaceful resting place beneath the pines for those we honor this holiday weekend.
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter the words, but to live by them," John F. Kennedy
