Throwback Thursday! Before the school year ended, AIG students from across the district competed in Olympic-style events that showcased skills they had been practicing all year. Celebrating Our Student Writers! We proudly recognize three outstanding students who were honored at the Rowan County Commissioners meeting for the 6th Grade Essay Contest: America 250, themed “Why It’s Great to Live in America.” This contest encourages civic reflection and celebrates excellence in student writing across our public schools.

🏆 First Place: Sarah McKinney – North Rowan Middle School
🥈 Second Place: Addyson Shelton – China Grove Middle School
🥉 Third Place: Fatima Dia – West Rowan Middle School

Each school submitted one winning essay for countywide judging by the Board of Commissioners. The students received special recognition and cash prizes at the June 1st meeting. We are proud of these young writers for their thoughtful reflections and achievement! (Two of the three students were present for the recognition). ✨💙📗

Just a few days before the end of the school year, Hanford Dole Elementary School celebrated their Pre-K class with a special “Pre-K Graduation” ceremony! This was a BIG milestone for these young learners as they prepare to move on to the “Big K” aka kindergarten next year. Surrounded by proud families and the caring Bobcat staff, it was a sweet celebration full of smiles, excitement, and accomplishments. ✨🎓💙🐾

Last Thursday, a community design team made up of students, family members, teachers, and community members invited the public to North Rowan High School to hear and share ideas about the future of North Rowan Middle School and North Rowan High School. The discussion centered on enhancing each student’s academic experience. The event opened with a strong start, featuring an outstanding performance by the North Rowan Drum Line and the Classy Cavalettes Dance Team! ✨💚
