Here are the general steps to become a Notary:

2. Complete the application and pay the state filing fee.
3. Complete the Notary training and pass an exam (if applicable).
4. Complete fingerprinting and background check (if applicable).
5. Receive your commission certificate from the state.
6. Get your surety bond (if applicable).
7. File your commission paperwork, oath and bond with your Notary regulating official.
8. Buy your Notary seal, journal, certificates and any other additional supplies.

From our friends at the U of I. “Oh 🦌🦌🦌DEER! A deer broke through a window at Engineering Sciences Building and our folks, along with @UIPD and @uofigrainger, helped secure and release the animal. There were some abrasions and cuts but the deer was deemed OK!” 😲Whew - never know what you’re gonna see!
