The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office congratulates Deputy First Class Bobbi Jo Landing on her retirement after more than 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Wicomico County.

DFC Landing spent 20 years in our K-9 and Patrol Division. During her career, she partnered with three K-9s—Elon, Rookie, and Ray—each of whom excelled in tracking and drug detection.

Before joining the K-9 Division in 2006, DFC Landing served as a School Resource Deputy and a Detective in the Criminal Investigation Division. In the Schools Division, DFC Landing taught DARE, participated in the Eddie Eagle Gun Safety program, and mentored young people in the Explorers Program.

She also served on the Crisis Intervention Team and the Hostage Negotiation Team, responding to challenging calls and helping de-escalate situations involving individuals in crisis. As a trained peer-support mentor, she generously supported fellow deputies and actively participated in community outreach programs.

Before joining the Sheriff’s Office, she worked as an Animal Control Officer for Wicomico County. Her extensive knowledge and expertise made her a valued resource on calls involving animals of all kinds, often beyond the scope of her regular duties.

DFC Landing now joins her husband, Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Eric Landing, in retirement. Sergeant Landing retired August 2025. We wish them both every happiness as they begin this next chapter. Their dedication and service to the community will be greatly missed.

đźš” Watch your speed, Wicomico County!

Maryland law sets speed limits for a reason. Under Maryland Transportation Article § 21-801.1, drivers must follow the maximum lawful speed limit and adjust their speed to road, traffic, and weather conditions.

Speeding reduces your time to react and increases the risk of a crash. Slow down, stay focused, and give yourself plenty of room to stop. Getting there a few minutes faster is never worth putting yourself or someone else in danger.

Drive responsibly. Arrive safely.
