Rolling up our sleeves for our community! 💪💙

RCLC staff Christina Rary, Quinn Davidson, and Bonnie Harrell joined board member Kaisha Brown to lend a hand with the BlockWorks project!

A heartfelt thank you to First United Church of Christ-Salisbury
for their generous grant support of the Rowan County Literacy Council!

Their funding helps cover essential background checks and tutor training materials, allowing us to welcome and prepare more volunteers to make a difference in our community.

This year alone, we've received 54 new tutor applications! 🎉 Each new volunteer represents an opportunity to help a child or adult build literacy skills, gain confidence, and reach their goals!

We are grateful to First United Church of Christ-Salisbury for investing in our volunteers and helping us expand access to literacy throughout Rowan County.

✏️📚 Our Youth Program Coordinator, Bonnie, trained youth tutors last Wednesday and yesterday morning to start tutoring at Isenberg and Overton Elementary Schools. She worked last week to assemble each tutor bag, including materials that the youth tutors will be using with their students. We are so grateful for Bonnie’s commitment to RCLC and excited to work with wonderful tutors who volunteer their time to work with youth students in Rowan County!
