A big shout-out to Emergency Dispatcher Mindy Rust and Corporal Matt Hughes of the Salisbury Barrack, who worked diligently alongside our partners at the MSP North East Barrack and Pennsylvania State Police Troop J to quickly and safely locate a critically missing elderly man.

Outstanding teamwork, communication, and coordination across jurisdictions led to a successful outcome and, most importantly, a safe reunion with family.

Great work by everyone involved! Maryland’s Finest at work! 🇺🇸

On September 26, the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack received a 911 call regarding a missing man with dementia believed to be somewhere on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

Salisbury Barrack personnel jumped into action and determined his location to be near US-222 along the Maryland-Pennsylvania border. Information was subsequently shared with MSP's North East Barrack and the Pennsylvania State Police. Shortly thereafter, troopers safely located the man, unharmed. He was then met by a family member who arrived on the scene to assume care.

Emergency Dispatchers Mindy Rust (Salisbury) and Austin Long (North East) played critical roles behind the scenes of this incident. Their resourcefulness, rapid exchange of information, and coordination across multiple jurisdictions helped ensure this man was reunited with his family.

The work of our emergency dispatchers is an essential part of keeping Marylanders safe. We commend all of our MSP personnel involved for their teamwork, dedication, and commitment. This is Maryland’s Finest at work.

🚨🚔 NEW STRIPES AT SALISBURY! 🚔🚨

The Salisbury Barrack is proud to recognize TFC John Henry and TFC Brandon Dill, who today officially earned the rank of Trooper First Class.

Over the past three years, both Troopers have gained valuable experience while demonstrating their dedication to the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack, and the citizens and communities they serve.

Michael Jordan once said, “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.”

TFC Henry and TFC Dill… YOU MADE IT HAPPEN! 💪

The new stripes represent a well-earned milestone and the next step in their careers. As they move forward, we know TFC Henry and TFC Dill will continue to lead by example, support their fellow Troopers, and uphold the proud traditions of the Maryland State Police.

🔥 EARNED. NEVER GIVEN. 🔥

Congratulations, gentlemen — wear those new stripes proudly!

Now it’s your turn, Eastern Shore! Help us congratulate TFC Henry and TFC Dill in the comments and show our newest TFCs some Eastern Shore love! 🚔💙👇

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack paused to honor and remember the innocent Americans and first responders whose lives were lost as a result of the attacks on our nation.

At 0846 hours—the time the first aircraft struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center—the Salisbury Barrack transmitted a commemorative radio broadcast, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the fallen.

The broadcast was delivered by Emergency Dispatcher Tia Polk, alongside Duty Officer Cpl. Matthew Hughes, TFC Zack, Trooper Henry and Cpl. Bean.

Twenty-five years have passed, but the courage, sacrifice, and memory of those we lost have not faded.

May we always remember their sacrifice. May we always honor their courage. And may we never forget September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

The Salisbury Barrack is kicking off a food drive throughout the month of July to help support families in our local community.

Donations can be dropped off to the Duty Officer who is located inside the front lobby area. We ask that donations consist of any nonperishable food items you'd like to contribute. At the end of the month, all donations will be delivered to a local food bank or shelter.

The summer months are especially difficult for many families, as children often lose access to school meal programs while school is out. If you're able to help, please consider donating. Every item—no matter how small—can make a meaningful difference.

Please join us at the Salisbury Barrack in this effort. Together we can demonstrate the power of teamwork as we support our neighbors.

Thank you for your generosity and continued support for the community we all call home!
