Pemberton Elementary Pemberton Elementary Pemberton Elementary School was built in 1950 to serve students in 10 classrooms.

In 2001 the building was renovated and expanded to 25 classrooms and serves three programs; Traditional grades Pre K – 5, Judy Center Y3/Pre-K/K, and one modified self-contained special education classroom. Pemberton serves a diverse population with varying socioeconomic status. In school year 2013-2014, 61% of the student population received free or reduced lunch and all students received the Maryland Meals for Readiness breakfast program. The instructional program is guided by the Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards which were fully implemented in grades PreK – 5 during the 2013-2014 school year.

What a great day for Wicomico County Elementary Athletics! Tuesday's Elementary Cross Country Culminating Event at Winterplace Park was a tremendous success, with 206 students from 5th Grade in 10 schools showcasing their hard work, determination, and school pride in the 1-mile races.

Congratulations to Westside Intermediate, the overall team champion, to Pittsville Elementary, the runner-up, and to all of the participating runners and schools.

We also thank the Wicomico County Education Foundation for its ongoing support of athletics in our middle and elementary schools. A very special thank you to the Parkside High School Cross Country team for volunteering to assist with the elementary championship. 🎃🍬 What an Incredible Trunk or Treat Celebration! 🍬🎃

Wow! We are so grateful for the incredible turnout from our Pemberton families and the overwhelming support from our staff, families, volunteers, and community partners who helped make this event such a success!

A huge THANK YOU to our families and staff for your generous donations to our Classroom Candy Contest. Together, we collected an amazing 649.83 pounds of candy! We also want to thank everyone who created and hosted the incredible trunks that brought so much excitement and joy to our students and families.

Special appreciation goes to our community partners:

🧡 Pemberton Elementary Judy Center Early Learning Hub for partnering with us and providing food, entertainment, and event supplies.

🎃 Harris Market, Inc. for generously donating pumpkins for our families.

🌭🎵 Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene for grilling hot dogs, serving food to our families, and coordinating DJ T-Dome/T&S Entertainment Group LLC for the festive and fun music throughout the evening.

Starlight School Night — A Family Learning Extravaganza is coming soon!

Join us Tuesday, October 20 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Junior Achievement Center (301 Tilghman Rd., Salisbury, MD 21804) for a fun night of learning and family fun!

Visit information tables about learning opportunities in our schools. Explore hands-on STEM activities, create art, enjoy student performances, visit the UMES STEM Mobile Lab and watch the Young Business Leaders make their pitch and take the LEGO challenge. Boxed dinners will be provided (while supplies last). Interpreters will be available.
