In honor and celebration of the life, leadership, and legacy of President Russell M. Nelson, the Church History Library will be closed from 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. MT on October 7, 2025, for his funeral service.

We invite all to join us in remembering our beloved prophet by viewing his service online at ChurchofJesusChrist.org or YouTube.

We’re pleased to open this new exhibition highlighting a selection of artifacts recently transferred to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Community of Christ. The Church History Department has immense gratitude for the care and respect Community of Christ has given to these beloved pieces of Church history. It’s through their reverent stewardship that these items are available to us today.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Church History Library will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929—he would have been 95 years old.
