Thank you to everyone who came out to my community event on Valentine’s Day! I loved meeting with my neighbors and celebrating the wonderful community we have here in District 1. I also want to thank Casa del Pollo for the delicious food and for allowing us to gather in this space! Days like this remind me why I love the Westside.

I've declared a local emergency following severe weekend storms that flooded the Rose Park area and impacted more than two dozen homes. With this state of emergency, we can access additional resources and move faster to support these Salt Lake City families in need.

Our thoughts are with the family of President Russell M. Nelson and our neighbors who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are also saddened by the news of a shooting and fire at an LDS meeting house in Michigan.

Saturday was National River Cleanup Day but it's always a good time to show some love to the Jordan River! It's important to keep our green spaces clean, and it takes all of us to ensure the river and trail can be enjoyed for generations. Consider joining future cleanup events with Salt Lake City Public Lands. Your efforts make a difference.
