On Saturday, January 3rd the ANSWER Coalition and local Utah organizers got together to hold a No War in Venezuela rally in opposition to the Trump Administration's violent attacks against Venezuela and the abduction of the Venezuelan President.

One of Salt Lake DSA's co-chairs, Adrienne G. spoke calling for the immediate return of President Maduro, First Lady Flores, and an immediate end to the sanctions and "War on Drugs." DSA is also calling on members to contact their representatives to demand they pass the War Powers Resolution. We ask that you join us in this fight against the increasing militarization and violent actions of the Trump administration.

Stand with Venezuela, and stand with the working class!

This session of Salt Lake DSA's Socialist Night School program is on the wins, losses, lessons, and contradictions of DSA's past decade of electoral campaigns. This has always been a complex topic, and is on everyone's mind after Mamdani's victory in NYC. We will review some history and discuss what applying those lessons might look like in SLC. This will be accessible for new and interested DSA members as well as veterans.

Pre-readings are not required, but will be useful in discussion and provide context for some of the topics presented. The readings provide three separate perspectives on DSA's electoral strategy.

This is our first time hosting the Socialist Night School Political Education and Social series in Ogden,UT! Members are encouraged to attend; non-members are welcome. Socialist Night School is a political education discussion group to increase people’s understanding of socialism as a political horizon, the role of socialists in a mass movement, and how workers can form organizations to pursue socialism. When we develop ourselves politically as members of DSA, we become more knowledgeable and effective, elevating our democratic decision-making as a whole chapter!

Around seven MILLION people came out to protest against the Trump Administration! This is the third national day of action and many people are left wondering now what? Trump is still in office and things are continuing to get worse in spite of our protest, so what can we actually, materially do to fight fascism in America?

JOIN A SOCIALIST ORGANIZATION

We're stronger together! And we need to show the people that there is a world outside of the ravages of capitalism! Your friends in the org will be able to direct you to all the things happening locally that you can get involved in to make a difference!

SUPPORT LOCAL UNIONIZATION EFFORTS!

The labor movement is alive and growing and there are so many ways you can support workers who are fighting for workplace democracy. Locally in Salt Lake you can support workers at and

Workers depend on community support when they try to unionize, so showing up on the picket line, donating to strike funds and moving others to support as well is an integral part of how we build working class power in our communities.

We can all contribute in different ways, and no effort is wasted.

UNIONIZE YOUR WORKPLACE!

We didn't get the weekend, the minimum wage, the forty hour work week, child labor laws, and so many more rights we all take for granted today by voting, or even by protesting. We got them through union power!

So talk to your coworkers about their right to organize! If you need any help, feel free to reach out to us or a union representative and we'll be happy to assist you along the process.
