Some moisture will continue moving through the Southern portions of ZLC today. Thunderstorms will look to develop over the higher terrain of ZLC after 16/17z this morning. Look for isolated to scattered thunderstorms to continue through the remainder of the afternoon.

A few thunderstorms are possible over MT-WY in the afternoon, but threats diminish by evening. The potential for isolated thunderstorms will also exist over the higher terrain of southern UT. Moderate high-level turbulence (associated with the jet stream) continues over northern ZLC.

A cold front advances south out of Canada as isold’d-wdly sct’d (mostly low-top) t-storms develop over portions of MT. Moderate high-level turbulence is also expected due to the jet stream.
06/11/2026
Low pressure and a cold front will continue to impact northern ZLC with clouds, icing conditions, scattered showers and even a few weak afternoon/evening thunderstorms. High pressure with dry and clear conditions for the remainder of ZLC.
06/10/2026
Remnant moisture and instability will result in a few afternoon & evening thunderstorms over northern ZLC airspace. Gusty winds, turbulence, and evening some mountain wave activity are likely.

Another system will move through ZLC today. Rain showers are on going already and thunderstorms will be developing this afternoon. The strongest thunderstorms will be located just outside of ZLC airspace in ND.
06/07/2026
A cold front moving through ZLC will push through MT today. By late this afternoon and evening it will reach the plains of Central and Eastern MT. Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon for MT into the Dakota’s. These thunderstorms will continue into early evening before ending.

A surface low pressure center strengthens over E Montana. Thunderstorms (some severe) will impact NE ZLC airspace as a cold front slowly pushes over the region. Gusty winds and moderate low-level turbulence are likely for much of the SE half of ZLC ahead of the front.
06/05/2026
High pressure builds over the region. Conditions will remain dry across ZLC airspace on Friday. Slightly elevated near-surface winds over W Montana could bring some moderate low-level turbulence and even some high/low mtn wave activity.
06/04/2026
Lingering low pressure and fairly strong instability will provide periods of thunderstorms across the east half of MT and NE ZLC. Some strong to severe storms later afternoon and into the evening.
