This interactive luncheon, organized by the APWA Central Branch, provides roadway designers, installers, and maintenance supervisors with essential guidance on culvert installation using rigid and flexible pipe systems. Trevor McDonald with the Mountain States Concrete Pipe Association will lead the presentation, covering the critical roles culverts play, key differences in materials, and best practices for trench preparation, bedding, jointing, and backfilling. The session also addresses national ASTM standards, inspection methods, and cost-effective repair strategies. Real-world examples and practical tips will help ensure long-term performance and resilience of highway drainage infrastructure.

Flooding has been significant in the last several years, and protecting channels has been more important than ever.
