Many hands raised our Sego Celebration Flag at City Hall today ahead of Juneteenth. Together. The ideals it represents are carried by our Black community, present and past. We stood together and raised a beautiful flag, but we're not done. We have a federal holiday on June 19. The City has adopted ordinances. But we're not done. We can learn more from you and how the City can do better. Keep building with us.
Thank you, Mrs. Betty Sawyer, Dr. Sidni Shorter, Ms. Emma Houston, Charles McKinney, Dr. Oscar Moses, the Utah Black Chamber, and every community member and local business who made today possible.
