Not quite ready for summertime heat to set in across the Western U.S.? The latest temperature forecasts from NOAA's Climate Prediction Center show that below normal temperatures are favored across a good portion of the West through late month, after we get past a brief warm up the next 7 days.

Wow! Impressive statistics from the recent atmospheric river event that impacted California. Even with all that water, we're still dealing with significant drought across the state due to very dry soils, but it's a nice start.

Warming trend across much of NWS Western Region this week. Temperatures well above average for most areas late in the week. Cooler conditions with chances for precipitation returning for most areas over the weekend.

Another round of active winter weather expected across the Pacific Northwest, Northern Rockies, and into portions of the Great Basin this holiday weekend. If traveling, please be prepared with a Winter Safety Kit. https://www.weather.gov/oun/safety-winter-safetykit

The storm track into the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies continues this week, but additional snowfall will also be observed farther south across portions of NV, UT and AZ. The image shows expected snowfall amounts across the west through Thursday afternoon.

First significant rainfall of the season to move into the southwest this week. It will be beneficial, but potential impacts will exist if heavier showers move across recent burn scars.
