Miracle Monday! đź’™

Sometimes you can see God’s hand so clearly, and this is one of those moments.

In May 2024, I replied to an HXP Instagram story saying I’d be willing to serve as a Parent Builder. A few weeks later, I found myself in Uruguay on an HXP trip. I came home absolutely convinced that I wanted my son, Beckett, to have this experience too.

The next summer, Beckett went to Samoa with HXP and loved every minute of it.

Fast forward to this year. Beckett received his mission call to Honolulu, Hawaii. We were thrilled! Then, during a Zoom call with his mission leaders, they surprised us by asking if he would be willing to become a Chuukese-speaking missionary. They told him they had been looking at his picture and felt strongly that he was the one who should learn the language.

After the call, Beckett remembered that “Poppa Ian,” one of the Parent Builders from his HXP trip, had served in Micronesia. We weren’t even sure he still spoke the language!

But he did.

Not only is Poppa Ian fluent in Chuukese, he still reads his scriptures in Chuukese. Since that day, he has been meeting with Beckett every week to help prepare him for his mission.

The more I think about it, the more amazed I am. A simple response to an Instagram story led to an HXP trip, which led to Samoa, which led to a friendship, which led to exactly the mentor Beckett needed at exactly the right time.

There are too many perfectly placed details for this to be a coincidence. God truly is in the details. ❤️

One thing you need to know about HXP Trip Leaders: they LOVE their Builders. They spend months praying for them, and asking God how they can be the best Trip Leaders possible for each and every kid.
