Books are on sale at Target! 📚🎯

Looking for a fun way to get your kids and family involved in service for our Back-to-School event? We are collecting new or like-new books for refugee children ages 0–18 to help them build their home libraries and start the school year ready to learn.

Many books are currently included in Target's Buy 2, Get 1 Free promotion, making now a great time to pick up a few titles from our recommended book list.

You can also purchase books through our Amazon registry, which is linked in our bio. For our Facebook friends, the registry is linked directly here:

As many of you know, our Back-to-School event looks a little different this year. We are not collecting backpacks, but there are still many ways you can help refugee students and families prepare for a successful school year.

From donating books, hygiene kits, underwear and socks, to sponsoring school supply kits, your support helps students start the school year feeling confident, prepared, and ready to learn.

We recently published a blog post with all the details, including a complete list of this year's needs and the different ways you can get involved.

Comment “BACK TO SCHOOL” below and we'll send you the link so you can read more and find the opportunity that's right for you! 📚✨

Utah Refugee Connection loves opportunities like this to connect with people who are doing good and want to get involved in our community.

We loved this event, which brought together dozens of nonprofits and families looking for meaningful ways to serve. It encouraged families to show up in their communities and make a difference for others.

We can’t do everything for everyone, but each of us can do something for someone.

Grateful for and for helping Utahns find meaningful ways to show up for one another.

Last week, refugee children explored stories, picked out books, and discovered the joy of reading at our community book fair. 📚✨

Moments like these remind us how powerful books can be. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we’re working to make sure refugee students have access to books that inspire learning, build confidence, and encourage a lifelong love of reading.

We’re currently collecting new and gently used children’s books to help refugee students start the school year strong. Every book donated helps put a story into the hands of a child who is eager to learn.

See the last graphic to see how you can continue to help promote literacy for refugee children!❤️
