USTAR represents the future job market for Utah. In the past three years alone, the $3.4 million deployed through the Technology Commercialization Grant program has resulted in 89 projects that have in turn attracted $20.3 million of private financing. Just met with Miss Utah to discuss Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education. Her platform is "Step up with STEM" and I appreciate Miss Utah's support in spreading interest for STEM.
STEM education opens many doors, and these career options often pay 50 percent more than non-STEM related jobs in Utah. Let's strengthen STEM education to fill the jobs of the future.
