As March was Women's History Month, we can contemplate the difference for good made by our 106-year-old council and appreciate Hillary's contribution to that difference. We can also recommit ourselves to be an influence for good as we make our voices heard going forward.

Hillary’s memorial will be held on Friday, May 15th starting at 11am at the Park City Community Church, 4501 St Rte 224 (behind the Park City Nursery from Bear Hollow Rd) in Park City.

Join us for the 2026 Legislative Wrap-Up Luncheon hosted by the Women’s State Legislative Council of Utah.

As we conclude the 2026 session, we’ll gather to reflect on key legislation, discuss outcomes that impact Utah families and communities, and connect with leaders who continue the work of civic engagement.

Today marks the 156th anniversary of Seraph Young voting! Seraph was the first woman in Utah and also the first woman in the United States to vote under an equal suffrage law. This painting by Utah artist David Koch can be viewed in the House of Representatives Chamber. This vote took place on Valentine’s Day (notice the heart on the sign in the lower left) Happy Valentine's Day from the Utah State Capitol!

This week, the North Capitol Building is officially open to the public, and sits as the newest member of Capitol Hill. Also, today is the first day of Legislative Session. A very exciting week!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s words continue to guide and inspire Utahns as we reflect on his enduring legacy. His vision reminds us that progress is built through service, integrity and respect for one another.
By working together and leading with purpose, we honor Dr. King’s call to build a stronger and more united future.

Alberta Henry was a leader who brought people together to solve sticky problems. We honor her today and all Utahns who have worked for a better tomorrow.

Dr. King reminded us that lasting change happens when people show up, speak out, and stay engaged.

On this MLK Day, and everyday, we honor his legacy by engaging in our communities, raising our voices, and helping shape the future together.
